There are quite a few still active BBS Server applications available on the internet for you to download, here’s a few that I know about

• Mystic BBS – maintained by g00r00, one of the more popular BBS Server softwares in use today. The Quantum Wormhole runs on it
• Synchronet BBS – created by Digitalman (Rob Swindell), still maintained by a group of people, this is another popular BBS Server software
• Magicka BBS – maintained by Andrew Pamment and others, a modern approach at BBSes keeping the original look and feel
• Enigma 1/2 BBS – Created entirely in Node.JS by Bryan Ashby, this is another modern approach at BBSes keeping the original look and feel
